# Export notes

> Download one note, a selection, or everything as Markdown files.

Everything you put into memex downloads as Markdown files, whenever you want.

- **One note:** **Download .md** on the note.
- **Some notes:** tick them on **Notes** and download them as a ZIP.
- **Everything:** **Settings › Notes** › **Export** › **Download notes**.

Each file is Markdown with its title and tags at the top.

> **Tip:** An export opens in Obsidian or any editor, and imports into another memex the same way.
